Head Coach - Phil Thomas. 

Head Coach - Phil Thomas (First Ball In)

Phil Thomas is a high performing level 4 SPC freelance tennis coach. With a wealth of experience of developing players from club level to county / national and international standards.

Phil is heading up the exciting club programme at OSMCCTC, where will be offering his time to players of all ages, levels of experience and ability, in the form of 1-2-1 lessons and/or small group sessions. Coaching sessions will be running during daytime midweek and weekend hours and will be available for all members of the club. 

Sessions Available

Adult Sessions:

Wednesday 12:30-1:30pm - New2Tennis Adults Beginners Session - Aimed at adults who are complete beignners, who are retired, work from home and/or Mums who have toddlers in school/nursery who wish to start tennis. £5.50 each week, pay as you go. All rackets and equipment provided. 

Sunday 10am-11:15am - Adults Improvers Session - Aimed at adults who have some playing experience and/or are able to rally, serve and score.These sessions will be £7.50 each week on a pay as you go basis. 

Junior Sessions:

Saturday 2:00-3:30pm - Junior Performance Squad - Aimed at competent, advanced level yellow ball junior players aged between 10 and 14 years. Several junior performance squad players have followed Phil from his previous venue, who now wish to join OSMCCTC as members to train and compete at the club. A great high-level junior coaching opportunity to get involved with. These sessions can be booked as a block of  6 weeks and will be £60 for members and £72 for non-members.

Further junior age group sessions will be offered after our next promotional open day event, where we will be offering more free taster coaching sessions. We hope to yield more junior players from this event, where we will be able to gauge whether there is an interest and demand for different age groups/abilities sessions.

Please contact Phil directly if you are intrested in group tennis coaching for your child. This way we will be able to determine if there is a demand and/or enough junior players to provide additional junior group coaching sessions for different age group/abilities.

Memberships

Our Tennis Courts are fully avaialble for booking our courts, two in total, there is an electronic booking system in place for booking a session at the Tennis Courts, all details are in the link above.
To gain access to the courts a code is issued automatically at the time of making a telephone booking, this code will need to be typed into the pad on the entrance gate to the courts. All bookings must be made by debit or credit card  (Amex cards excluded).

We are also working with Tennis Wales in exploring opportunities for coaching facilities. Regardless of whether coaching is required those interested are invited to play tennis 🎾 either as a club member or on a pay to play basis. The scale of charges will be as set out below. They are intentionally set to be reasonable & will go towards the upkeep of the courts.

SAFGUARDING

OSCCTC is committed to safeguarding the welfare of children, young people and adults at risk who engage in all tennis activities. 

Whether you/your child are engaging in coaching, matches or other organised events, we will strive to keep children, young people and adults at risk safe and free from harm.

Welfare & Safeguarding Officer

Rhianna Solosy is the Welfare Officer for OSMCCTC and is available to discuss any concerns or worries you may have.

Rhianna Solosy is the clubs dedicated welfare officer responsible for the safety of all our members.

Rhianna is a teacher and has vast experience working with children. She has completed her safeguarding course and has a current enhanced DBS.
